Letter, 1924 June 8, West Cornwall, Connecticut, to [Samuel Lowry] Latimer, [Columbia, S.C.]

Reply to Latimer's letter of 22 May 1924, in which Hughes reports that he had once met a Latimer relative "at Mr. Brice's office" in Latimer's hometown of York, S.C., "...he was either a Congressman or a candidate for Congress.... Otherwise he seemed a very agreeable gentleman." Hughes closes with vow to direct his publisher to send Latimer a copy of Hughes' 1924 play, Hell-Bent Fer Heaven, a Play in Three Acts.
